How to set-up a beautiful Home Yoga space

Oct 23, 2023

You don't have to own a designer house or have tonnes of room to create a beautiful Yoga space at home.

Read these 5 tips to create a special space just for you.

1. Let in the light!

Set your mat up next to a window ideally where the sun shines in. If your room doesn't have natural light, put in some ambient lamps and turn off overhead fluorescent lights.

2. Make scense

They say that smell is closely linked with memory, more than any of our other senses. So burn some Nag Champa, light a yummy smelling candle or infuse some lavender essential oil and BOOM you'll feel like you're right back in your old Yoga studio.

3. Cleanse your space

Wipe down your mat before each practice, clear away clutter and distractions, turn off the TV, burn some sage or even some gum leafs to cleanse the energy and if it's warm enough, open a window to let in some clean fresh air.

4. Keep your mat rolled out

This might seem super obvious, but if you have a designated space where your mat is always left out- you are much more likely to actually practice. Keep your mat out and it's amazing how much easier it becomes to just get on it and stop procrastinating.

5. Bring nature in.

In case you couldn't already tell, I'm a bit of a house plant fanatic. (The one on the left is Jasper and the one on the right is Lawrence!) But it's amazing how bringing in some fresh flowers, plants or even just some foliage off a tree can transform a space and make even the most industrial room feel softer.
